the XStreamDB 3.2 is ideal for enterprise or even better for OEM such as
content integration servers, next generation content management systems,

and understands the true power of XQuery and native XML storage.
The improvements come manly with respect
to performance and security.
Performance was optimized via precompiled XQuery functions that have
increased the speed of operations up to thirty times in some cases.
Major changes to the security system were
made. Highlights include:
Addition of Group Security, Better System Table Security, Owner Security
and Extended Operation Permissions.
The XStreamDB security model is now much
enhanced and very flexible. The
addition of extended operations allows applications to define their own
operations on documents and have XStreamDB manage these.
In addition to performance and security,
XStreamDB 3.2 has an enhanced tree
update, as well as, document metadata support. With the enhanced tree
update the user can identify any node in the database and make appropriate
changes, all within the context of XQuery. Document metadata is associated
with every document in the database thus extending the choices developers
have when determining a document identity model.
